Zoofactory is a trade name associated with the owner of Kalamazoo Coatings located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA.
The company provides powder coating and ceramic coating services for high temperature and corrosion resistant applications for industrial and automotive markets. Ceramic coatings properly applied can improve fuel economy, horsepower, and torque, while increasing longevity of part life. Temperatures up to 2000F can be effectively managed with this technology.
The company was originally formed as a Michigan Corporation with the offical name of Kalamazoo Factory Enduro, Ltd. dba Zoofactory, LLC. in early 1998 by Chris Bridges and as an aftermarket upgrading and performance facility mainly focusing on the tuning of import cars and motorcycles. The organization was successful in creating a cultural following with the Zoofactory name that offered tuners a gathering place to focus their interests and hone their skills. The company was suspended in late 2001 for lack of additional financial backing required to maintain the facility located at 603 Crosstown Parkway, Kalamazoo, MI 49001 ( the building has since been leveled and is now a parking lot for Bronson Hospital).
In 2005, the name was dusted off and put back on the wall after Chris Bridges and Matt Moilanen invested in technology related to ceramic coatings, thermal barriers, and thermal dispersants and is currently how the company maintains itself. Matt Moilanen discontinued material participation and left the company in December of 2006. The company now fuctions as a catalyst for a variety of contractors and customers to gain access to their particular coating requirements and specialties.
